Challenge
The gaming market is huge and in a state of constant flux; it's hard for gamers to find new releases that interest them. The traditional ways of doing this, through app stores or by word of mouth, are usually very time-consuming and inefficient. GameHunt tries to solve this problem in a more seamless and personalized manner.
Results
Game Hunt does so as it gathers data from multiple online platforms and provides timely notifications regarding the price of games, sales, and freebies. In fact, with Game Hunt, gamers are able to search games individually, monitor the change in price and be notified of the time the price has dropped or is about to drop. This helps them to avoid missing out on the best deals on products and services and also help them make wiser buying decisions.
PROCESS
01
Research & Analysis
In-depth interviews with 17 people were performed to develop a deep understanding of the target audience and their needs. Some of the issues that the interviews tried to establish include pain points, preferences, and behaviors concerning gaming. Second, competitor platform research was done to the fullest extent to find out gaps in the market and areas where Gamehunt would embed unique value propositions. The insights gained in these interviews and the market analysis were used to develop very detailed user personas, including a budget gamer named Sarah Jones. These personas provided a backup for making informed design decisions that ensured that this final product would meet the needs and preferences of the target audience.
02
Information Architechture
An intuitive user experience was made possible by creating a full site map for easy navigation within the Gamehunt platform. Content planning was approached in such a way that it put much emphasis on deal discovery and community engagement. A powerful tagging system was integrated into the catalog to make it further organized and searchable; it allowed for efficient game and deal categorization, so it is never hard to find what users are looking for.
03
Usability Testing
Comprehensive usability testing of the Gamehunt platform included three rounds of testing with 15 participants in each. Such testing allowed for the identification and resolution of such key usability issues as unclear navigation and indistinct ratings of deals. Insights from these tests were used to create a design and functionality refinement of the platform. Further to optimize the deal discovery process, A/B testing was instituted to understand the variances on the site and know precisely what works and what doesn't work quite as well. This iterative testing process allowed for continuous improvement to ensure a superior user experience when using Gamehunt.
04
Visual Style & Style Guide
Therefore, a strong visual identity was created to go well with the target demographic and help in creating a memorable brand identity. This entailed the development of an all-inclusive style guide from colors and typography to the overall aesthetic that would be possessed by the platform, hence ensuring continuity in all aspects of Gamehunt. The design of custom-made icons and illustrations enhanced the user experience of the website, reinforcing the identity of the brand by adding a unique touch-aesthetically pleasing-to the platform.
